Product Details

THE STOCK, ACTION AND FORE-END ONLY OF A RARE J. FRAMPTON (NOTTINGHAM) 12-BORE 1892 PATENT TOPLEVER FOLDING HAMMERGUN, n.v.s.n., action incorporating John Frampton patent No. 1,676 of 1892, where the barrel hook is made as a loop through which a screw bolt pin is fitted

Provenance: This Lot is accompanied by some research the vendor has undertaken on the maker, together with a copy of an excerpt from "The British Shotgun, Vol. III" by Crudgington & Baker, which notes that the "...form of the gun shown on the patent is so reminiscent of the well-known Belgian folding gun that some connection between the two is suspected instantly."
